covenant membership

The Biblical term for when people commit themselves to stand with one another is ‘covenant’. Though the term ‘membership’ is not used in scripture, it is used commonly in our culture to express belonging to a group or an organization. So, here at Eagle’s Nest, “Covenant Membership” means someone who has taken Pastor Hart’s Covenant Class, believes that God has placed them at Eagle’s Nest for a purpose, and made the public commitment to be a part of this local body of believers

  • All the benefits & resources of EN are available to you.
  • The corporate blessing of the church
  • A deep satisfaction of being fruitfully placed in the body of Christ
  • The spiritual oversight by the pastors & elders of ENWC
  • Becoming a Covenant Member gives you the opportunity to announce that you have found your church home and that you are standing in covenant with the vision of the house. We live in an age where very few want to be committed to anything…a job, a marriage or family. This attitude has produced a generation of “church hoppers and shoppers.” Membership swims against the current of America’s consumer mentality and is an antidote to society. Membership sets us apart from the culture, allowing us to preserve our beliefs and values.

Membership can also produce spiritual growth. The New Testament places a major emphasis on the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. One of the requirements for serving on a ministry team at ENWC is that you be a Covenant Member of this local church. The book of James tells church leadership to “know those who labor among you.” When someone takes Covenant Membership Class and becomes a Covenant Member – it allows us to know you a bit better. So this step opens the door for you to serve at Eagle’s Nest on a ministry team. Many people each year request to married at Eagle’s Nest or to have a funeral service here. Eagle’s Nest is only available for these events for Covenant Members

If you have been attending Eagle’s Nest and believe God is planting you here – then please take the class! If you have been attending and are still praying about whether God has called ENWC to be your church home – taking this class will help you understand where God is calling you and to see if Eagle’s Nest is that place.

First of all, please know that Biblically speaking everyone who accepts Christ as their Savior is a part of the Church, the body of Christ, the Family of God! Pastor Hart views the Church of Omaha as many local assemblies worshiping the same Lord, just under different roofs. As you are a committed member of a local church,God gives you a pastor to shepherd you, a place to serve and a promise of people to stand with you in the battle.

There is no competition for church members at Eagle’s Nest Worship Center! If you become a “Covenant Member” at ENWC it’s because you know God has called you to be planted here – you do not need to relinquish any membership anywhere else. We are all members of the Body of Christ first and foremost.
